FanDuel Quick Picks for Week 17

FanDuel Quick Picks For Week 17
Tournament Style

Congratulations to all of you who have won your respective fantasy championships in your home leagues. There is no better feeling than to defeat your high school buddies, college friends, co-workers, grandparents, wives, or whomever you competed against. The money is always secondary to the trophy or bragging rights. The money is never secondary when it comes to FanDuel however. Week 17 is upon us and with it comes another shot to make some cash. Here are your first look quick picks for week 17.

Quick Tip #1 -Julio Jones – WR – Falcons – ($9300) – Just pay it. You owe it to yourself to enjoy watching bombs to Julio over fledgling Saints defensive backs and safeties. He torched a strong Panther defense last week to the tune of 9-178-1 so just imagine what is in store this weekend. The price tag will steer some players away from using him in their lineups. Don’t let it steer you away as there are some cheap RB plays to offset my WR plan this week.

Quick Tip #2 – DeAndre Hopkins – WR – Texans ($9000) – It does not matter who is throwing the ball for the Texans as DeAndre is the most exciting young player in football now the Odell Beckham Jr. has been scolded and sent to the corner. The last time the Texans met the Jags Hopkins torched them to the tune of 10-148-2. Expect more of the same.

Quick Tip #3 Antonio Brown – WR – Steelers ($9100)
That’s right. The WR $9000 WR trifecta for my grande FanDuel Finale! I know you’re thinking I will be forced to use Johnny Manziel at QB but you’re wrong. I will post my entire lineup for this week for you to entertain. Brown vs. the Browns is like having chocolate covered chocolate or bacon wrapped bacon would be the better example. If the Browns put their entire defense on him to cover him they still would not be able to. Last time out Brown blasted the Browns for 10-139-2 and I will be disappointed if he doesn’t beat those stats this week.

Quick Tip #4 – Ben Roethlisberger- QB – Steelers ($8800)
He embarrassed himself last week and some players will not be able to play him this week due to disgust. I’ve been there before but I’ve learned to double up on stars following a bad week. The Steelers have to win and they won’t mess around with the Browns. They will put a hurting on them and continue to put a hurting on them through the final whistle. He threw for 379 yards and 3 TDs last time out vs. the Browns so expect more of the same.

Quick Tip #5 – Jeremy Langford – RB – Bears ($4900)
Cha-Ching. Let’s just hope Matt Forte is out this week with that bad back. Langford rushed for 83 yards on 19 carries in a relief role last week and has put up as much as 33.7 FanDuel points in a week as he did so vs. the Rams on 11/15. He can catch passes out of the backfield and is just a beautiful play at home. His price makes the WR trifecta happen.

Quick Tip #6 – Darren Sproles – RB – $5200 – Who the hell on the Giants defense is going to feel like running after Sproles? When was the last time Sproles wasn’t running back punts for TDs vs. the Giants? His catch passing ability + kick return potential + history vs. the Giants makes for a nice cheap play and also to make the WR trifecta happen.

THE LONGSHOTS

Below are the long shots that will round out my lineup and help make my dream of the WR Trifecta work.

Jacob Tamme – TE – $4900 – Why not? It’s the Saints defense after all. He’s good for 4-5 catches. Here’s hoping one of them is in the endzone.

Blair Walsh – K – $4500 – I wish I had him last week for his monster day. Last time vs. the Packers he registered only one point which is a bit concerning but you could do worse here.

Cowboys Defense – D – $4300 – Cowboys only allowed 16 points to the Redskins the last time they played. The Redskins don’t need this game so maybe we see RG III running around like a maniac again getting sacked.

So there you have it. $60,000 spent and the most wonderful WR Trifecta ever assembled. Feel free to replace any one of those WRs with Odell Beckham Jr. but do so at your own risk. You could also replace Ben Roethlisberger with Matt Ryan and use that saved money at Tight End, RB, or Defense. Thank you for reading my thoughts this year and I hope I was able to give you a player or two to use in your lineups. FanDuel Quick Picks for Week 15

FanDuel Quick Picks For Week 15
Tournament Style

Some of you may have advanced to the semi-finals of your fantasy football playoffs. For the rest of us, like myself who’ve been eliminated, we can now turn our full attention to our FanDuel lineups, where every week feels like the playoffs. Here are your first look quick picks for week 15.

Quick Tip #1 -Phillip Rivers – QB – Chargers – ($7400) – This pick is more about the Dolphins who are a mess then it is a testament to Phillip Rivers. The Dolphins are facing a short week cross country trek to San Diego to play a meaningless uninspiring game. After letting Eli Manning thrash them for 4 TDs this past Monday night, expect Rivers to unleash some of his own pent up frustration by putting up big numbers. The Dolphins defense gives up the fifth most passing touchdowns in all of football.

Quick Tip #2 – David Johnson – RB – Cardinals ($6500) – For this price, David Johnson will put up stats comparable to those more expensive then him and it will allow you to conserve money for your WRs. Last week vs. a very tough Vikings D Johnson posted a 19-92 rushing stat line and added another 5 catches for 31 yards. The Eagles D should be flustered dealing with the Cardinals balanced attack allowing Johnson to be a force.

Quick Tip #3 Denard Robinson – RB – Jags ($6300)
I like the matchup here this week as the Falcons are in shambles and allow the second most rushing TDs in the NFL. Last week in a relief role, Robinson rushed for 14-75-1 and caught one pass for 12 yards. TJ Yeldon should be OUT for this game which would give Robinson a bigger role as a starter and his price tag should slot in nicely in your lineups.

Quick Tip #4 – Golden Tate- WR – Lions ($6900)
Tate is coming on strong lately after a disappointing season overall. His fanduel price has only worked its way up to $6900 so I believe you get good value here for the price. If that wasn’t enough to sell you on Tate then let me remind you that he is playing the Saints this week. Sold. Last week’s stat line was 9-60-2 and he even add one rush for 15 yards. It’s tempting to take Calvin Johnson instead but you never know which Calvin you’re going to get. I’m going to save the $1100 and take my chances on Tate.

Quick Tip #5 – Jeremy Maclin – WR – Chiefs ($6700)
I’m just loving the prices here this week on the upper mid-tier players in all cats. I see Odell Beckham and Antonio Brown with tough matchups so I’m picturing a very balanced lineup instead. Jeremy Maclin fits in perfectly with his value price tag and matchup vs. the horrendous Ravens secondary that helped make an offensive video highlight reel for the Seahawks last week. Last week Maclin was targeted nine times and caught six passes for 68 yards. The two weeks before that he put up big time numbers. The consistency is there, the matchup is there, and the price is right.

THE LONGSHOTS

Below are 5 long shots that have a chance to hit this week along with a small blurb about each one and their Fanduel price. Adding any one of these guys is like adding a long shot into horse racing exacta or trifecta.

Tyler Lockett – WR – $6000 – Not really a long shot here. Awesome price tag, awesome hot streak, electric player, becoming more consistently involved in the offense. Use him.

AJ McCarron – QB – $6000 – Hey, he looked ok in a relief role last week posting a 22-32-280 with 2 TDs last week. He has the weapons to put up solid numbers vs. 49ers.

Albert Wilson – WR – $5300 – I hate playing the “pick the surprise player from last week this week” game but this is strictly a matchup play vs. the Ravens and a low cost play. If you select your whole lineup and you have $5300 left in the WR spot and don’t want to make changes, you could do worse.

Will Tye – TE -$4900 – Eli should struggle vs. the Panthers D and be forced to make quick decisions and rely on safety blankets. Will Tye is emerging as a threat in the passing game and just scored his first TD last week.

Danny Woodhead – RB – $5300 – Struggling lately, but how many times have you seen a home chargers game where it was all Woodhead all the time? Chargers are back home vs. a bad team in the Dolphins and he will put up good numbers at a next to nothing price. Great value here.

The injuries at tight end cannot be ignored this week.  With the injuries piling up there will be some questions about who to start in Rob Gronkowski’s place.  Use my rankings or the Start/Sit Widget located to the right for all of your week 13 fantasy football rankings questions.

FanDuel Quick Picks For Week 13

FanDuel Quick Picks For Week 13
Tournament Style

Time flies when you’re allowed to enjoy your God given right to play DFS fantasy football. It’s week 13 already and we’re at that stage where RBs that weren’t drafted in the first ten rounds, if at all in your regular fantasy leagues, are top options. Here are your Quick Picks for week 13.

Quick Tip #1 -Cam Newton – QB – Panthers – ($9000) – There are two ways to play this. #1 – Go against the grain and don’t take Cam hoping that they get a lot of defensive scores and some RB TDs and he rests in the fourth quarter with modest totals. You pick a different QB altogether and the 54% that take Cam are in trouble. #2 – You take Cam because he should and will dominate the terrible Saints defense and you need those points to keep pace with the opposing players. I will probably do one lineup with him and one without him. The last time out vs. the Saints Cam registered 29.9 points posting a stat line of 20-315-2 in the air and 7-33-1 on the ground. Beware of the possible let down game but I only see good things for Cam this week.

Quick Tip #2 – David Johnson – RB – Cardinals ($5900) – My boy is back! David Johnson has waited patiently for his turn to come again and it is finally here. Chris Johnson is out, Andre Ellington is hurting, and David Johnson is big, mean, and chomping at the bit. I can see him doing to the Rams what Jeremy Langford did to them three weeks ago. Langford posted 33.7 points killing the Rams on the ground and the air. The Rams defense has completely fallen apart so there is no reason to fear them.

Quick Tip #3 CJ Anderson – RB – Broncos ($6800)
CJ is starting to emerge again coming off of a big game Monday night vs. New England. He posted a stat line of 15-113-2 on the ground as well as 4-40 through the air. It was right around this time last year that he emerged as a force and it appears to be happening again this year. It is still annoying that Hillman will get touches but every team uses two RBs these days. The San Diego matchup is a good one as they’ve been terrible against the run all year. The price is right and the production could be rewarding.

Quick Tip #4 – Kyle Rudolph- TE – Vikings ($5100)
Kyle Rudolph is coming on strong lately and is being targeted heavily (10 last week) by Terry Bridgewater. Last week he caught 7 balls for 53 yards and the week before that he posted a line of 6-106-1. The matchup may vs. the Seahawks may look suspect at first, but stopping opposing teams TEs have been an issue for the Seahawks D. I think he will put up Greg Olsen type numbers for only $5100.

Quick Tip #5 – Jarvis Landry – WR – Dolphins ($7400)
Jarvis exploded last week for 13-165-1 against a formidable Jets defense. This week he has an excellent matchup vs. the Ravens defense that has been bad all year and had trouble containing the Browns thirds sting QB. The Dolphins Defense has been bad so this should be one of those back and forth high scoring games by two bad teams. I expect Landry to do Antonio Brown type things at a cheaper price.

THE LONGSHOTS

Below are 5 long shots that have a chance to hit this week along with a small blurb about each one and their Fanduel price. Adding any one of these guys is like adding a long shot into horse racing exacta or trifecta.

Bears D – $4400 – Hey, if they can go on the road and contain Aaron Rogers on Thanksgiving then they sure as hell can score you a decent amount of points at Soldier Field vs. the 49ers. The price allows you to spend elsewhere.

Devin Funchess – WR – $5600 – The Saints just tempt QBs to put up big stats because they’re just so bad defensively. I’m not too worried that the Panthers will score all their points in the running game. Funchess is the guy you remembered last week, forgot about this week, and then wish you put him in a lineup. Nice price, Saints stink.

DeVante Parker- WR – Dolphins $5200- Hey he finally did something last week even though it was in garbage time vs. the Jets. It’s been painful waiting for this guy to produce. The matchup this week vs. the Ravens makes him very tempting if you can’t afford Jarvis Landry.

Matt Schaub – QB -$6200 – Ryan Fitzpatrick had 4 TDs and registered 29 points vs. the Dolphins last week. Schaub could potentially put up 3 TDs and 23 points vs. the Fins and all their ugliness.

James White – RB – $5200 – I’m doing the George Constanza do the opposite of what I’d normally do strategy. Brandon Bolden put up better stats last week so I normally would go with him or Blount. When I do such things those guys do nothing and guys like White do all the scoring. Therefore, I’d just go with White this week for no other reason than it doesn’t make sense to do so.

Fantasy Hockey – Mike Condon and Other Week 8 Transaction Trends

The Montreal Canadiens were dealt a big blow when they announced that Carey Price would be out for a minimum of six weeks. Chances are, if you’re a Price owner – your fantasy team is looking a little troublesome between the pipes. If you missed out on the Mike Condon train in fantasy hockey week 8 transaction trends, there are other goal tending options you can pick up.

Mike Condon – G – Montreal Canadiens
65% Owned

Let’s start with the man of the hour. Condon has filled in admirably for the all-star, Price. He’s 10-2-0 with a 2.06 GAA to go along with a .934 SV% as CP31’s replacement. Price is slated to miss the next 18 games (Estimated return Jan 14 vs Chicago) and those games are against some tough company. 15 of the next 18 games are against teams above .500 (Including two against Boston and two against the Capitals). Condon has shown that he’s more than capable to fill-in while Price is out but if he falters at all – the door is wide open for Zachary Fucale. If you have an empty roster spot – it might be a good idea to handcuff Condon with Fucale (1% owned).

Thomas Greiss – G – New York Islanders
20% Owned

Greiss and his counter-part Jaroslav Halak are fighting for first-string status. They have very similar stats (Halak: 2.02 GAA, .921 SV% | Greiss: 2.30 GAA, .925 SV%) and it seems like head coach Jack Capuano is not opposed to riding the hot hand. This week? It’s Thomas Greiss. The 29 year old has won his last two starts and looks to be the go-to guy for now. The Islanders have three games left this week so Greiss could bring you some short term value or a handcuff if you’re a Halak owner.

John Gibson – G – Anaheim Ducks
18% Owned

John Gibson just might be the best goaltender in the Ducks organization. He only has a four game sample size this year (2W, 1.82 GAA, .936 SV%, 1 SO) but he’s been pretty damn good. Frederik Andersen has been very average on the season but horrible over his last three games (.817 SV%). If Gibson and the Ducks keep rolling there’s no guarantee that Andersen gets his job back. If Gibson is available in your league – pick him up.

Leo Komarov – C/LW – Toronto Maple Leafs
16% Owned

Leo Komarov used to be an add strictly used if you were desperate for hits. He’s doing that (2nd among eligible forwards with 114 hits) and more. With 10 goals on the season, he’s already eclipsed his previous career best of 8 NHL goals. Komarov has found a home on the top line with Nazem Kadri and James van Riemsdyk while manning the middle on the top power play unit. Leo is on a hot streak (4G last 3GP) and the Leafs have three games left this week. Strike while the iron’s hot.

Frans Nielsen – C – New York Islanders
34% Owned

At age 31, Frans Nielsen is having the most productive season of his career. He’s shooting the puck way more (69 SOG) and it’s leading to points. Nielsen is currently on pace for 61 points which would be a new career high. He can thank life on the top power play unit with John Tavares for that.

Michael Stone – D – Arizona Coyotes
9% Owned

More ice time = more production in most cases. Michael Stone is no exception. Playing 22+ minutes per game over his last three contests – Stone has produced. One goal and two assists while firing seven shots on goal provides not only season long value but great DFS value. He’s paired up with Arizonas best player in Oliver Ekman-Larsson while seeing time on the second power play unit. Arizona has three more games this week including matchups against Buffalo and Carolina. Value. Value. Value.
